About Us

Pilates has become closely associated with a certain aesthetic and a set of expectations, shaped in large part by social media and the world around us. And while there’s beauty in that, Pilates is so much more. It’s an exercise method that can be accessible to everyone, of all ages and stages, and one that supports long-term strength, flexibility, and overall well-being.

That’s why we created New Heights.

We believe there’s a balance that’s not quite being struck anywhere else. A space where the beauty and luxury of a thoughtfully designed studio can exist alongside teaching that is just as elevated, inclusive, and grounded in real care. New Heights was built so that everyone who walks through the door feels comfortable, supported, and like they truly belong.

We keep our classes small so you’re not just another body in the room. Our instructors are carefully chosen, fully certified, and here to help you move better, feel stronger, and understand your body in a way that lasts long after you leave the studio.

And yes, they’re here to celebrate your wins too, because at New Heights you’re going to have a lot of them.

Rooted in classical Pilates and taught through a modern lens, our approach makes space for real bodies, real lives, and real progress.

Our Classes

  • New to the reformer? Reformer Basics is the perfect place to start.

In this small group session, you’ll learn the fundamentals of the reformer, become familiar with the equipment, and explore the foundational Pilates exercises that appear throughout our classes.

By the end of the session, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to step into The Classic and other classes on the New Heights schedule.

With a maximum of 7 clients per session, there’s plenty of space to ask questions, receive personalized guidance, and learn the modifications that will support you as you begin your Pilates practice.

No prior Pilates experience is required.

  • The Classic is our foundational reformer class and the heart of New Heights.

Rooted in the principles of classical Pilates and taught through a modern lens, this class focuses on strong fundamentals, thoughtful sequencing, and precise movement.

Whether you're brand new to the reformer or a seasoned practitioner, exercises are thoughtfully progressed so each client can be challenged at their level.

With a maximum of 7 clients per class, instructors are able to provide individualized attention, thoughtful guidance, and modifications tailored to your level.

Expect to build strength, improve alignment, and leave feeling more connected to your body.

    All levels are welcome.

  • The Jump is our jump board reformer class designed to add cardio, power, and playful energy to your Pilates practice.

Using the reformer’s jump board, this class combines controlled jumping with traditional Pilates exercises to build cardiovascular endurance, coordination, and whole body strength while maintaining the precision and control that define Pilates.

Expect rhythmic sequences, dynamic transitions, and a workout that elevates the heart rate while still feeling grounded in thoughtful movement.

With a maximum of 7 clients per class, instructors are able to provide individualized guidance, modifications and support throughout the experience.

    All levels are welcome.

  • A slower, stretch-focused Reformer class designed to help you reset.

This class is all about releasing tension through longer-held, supported stretches that target the fascia and encourage deep, lasting release. Expect calming music, a low-lit studio, slow transitions, and time to settle into each position. It’s a moment to soften, breathe, and let your body unwind.

FAQ’s

Still have questions?

Email us
  • Reformer Pilates is a full body workout done on the Pilates reformer, a machine designed to support and challenge your movement.

Using a system of springs, straps, and a moving carriage, it helps build strength, improve flexibility, and support better posture, all in a way that can be adjusted to your body and your level.

The springs can be adjusted for each individual client, and throughout class you’ll be guided through different options so you can dial the workout in to what your body needs that day.

  • The truth is, with a maximum of 7 people per class, you can come to any class as a beginner and be well taken care of!

If you’re looking to start slower, and get a comprehensive understanding of the practice and reformer, we recommend starting with The Beginner class.

It’s designed to walk you through the machine, the foundational movements, and how everything works so you can feel confident stepping into any class after.

  • The doors will open 10 minutes prior to class starting. Please arrive about 5 to 10 minutes early, especially for your first class.

This gives you time to get settled, meet your instructor, and get familiar with the space.

  • Wear something you feel comfortable moving in. Because the machines have springs and moving parts we recommend something form fitting and that long hair be tied back.

Grip socks are required for all classes for safety and hygiene. If you don’t have a pair, they’ll be available for purchase at the studio.

  • We’re located on the corner of Palisade Avenue and South Street in Jersey City Heights.

Our address is 10 South Street, but the entrance to the studio is on Palisade.

  • We keep our classes intentionally small with a maximum of 7 clients.

This allows our instructors to give hands on guidance, offer modifications, and make sure you’re getting the most out of every movement.

  • We offer both memberships and class packages depending on what works best for your schedule.

Memberships are billed monthly and give you a set number of classes per month (or unlimited access), while class packs can be used more flexibly within their expiration window.

Full details can be found on our buy page.

  • We ask that you cancel at least 12 hours before class.

Late cancellations or no shows will result in the loss of a class credit. Unlimited members will be subject to a fee.

Full details can be found on our studio policies page.

  • Yes!

Our private sessions are fully personalized and may be performed on either the Reformer or the Cadillac, depending on your goals. The Cadillac is a more specialized piece of Pilates equipment that offers unique opportunities for support, strength, and precision.

To book, email us or speak with your instructor.

  • Our waitlist closes 2 hours prior to class time. This means that if you are still on the waitlist, you will know definitively whether or not you’ve been added into class no later than 2 hours before class begins.

Please note: if you are automatically added into class from the waitlist within our 12 hour cancellation window, the reservation is considered confirmed and our late cancellation policy will apply if you cancel at that point.

If you are unsure of your availability, we strongly recommend removing yourself from the waitlist before the 12 hour cancellation window begins to avoid any late cancellation penalties.
